GOALS

  • To teach, by word and by example, correct, humane, clear and logical principles of classical riding and training, as they are appropriate to each breed, and to the discipline of dressage.
  • To make the pursuit of riding understandable, enjoyable and enriching.
  • To provide classically trained dressage schoolmasters for students to learn correct riding on.
  • To create a comfortable and focused learning environment, free from force and pressure, in which to work in harmony with the horse
  • To mentor dedicated younger riders, trainers and teachers in their quest for knowledge.
  • To successfully compete in the modern show arena, without compromising classical principles.

WE STRESS

THE SEAT
  • First and foremost, the importance of a correct and effective SEAT, its relationship to equine biomechanics, and how to achieve dynamic balance in and through movement.
THE HORSE'S MIND
  • How the horse THINKS and how that determines our ability to safely and humanely relate to it.
THE AIDS
  • The systematic understanding of the AIDS, which are our means of communicating our wishes to the horse.
ETHICAL TREATMENT
  • The ETHICAL TREATMENT of the horse, and of course, the student, during the lesson process.
THE PROCESS
  • The pleasures and satisfactions of riding AS A PROCESS, an emotional and mental haven where we can enjoy deepening the relationship with a noble animal, and with our inner self.
